Friends Turn Old Van Into Laundromat
Two guys in Brisbane Australia have turn their van into a rolling laundromat. The van spends 5 days per week doing laundry for the homeless. Lucas Patchett (20) and Nicholas Marchesi (20) felt like not enough was being done to help the homeless with personal hygiene “a privilege that so many of us take for granted” so they decided to be good guys and do something about it.
In July, Orange Sky Laundry was started by fixing up their old white van and buying a portable generator so they would have power to run the machines. They then took donations to raise the money for two washers and dryers. They are able to wash and dry about 44 pounds of laundry every hour with the set up.
