See Ya Later Alligator…
Alligators should not get this size, like ever. And in Florida, I would expect to see something like this. (You know since the whole state is basically a swamp). After all, a man in Florida tossed a live gator through a Wendy’s drive thru. Someone in Florida also caught a 14 FOOT alligator, basically proving dinosaurs still exist. Oh and remember that Florida guy who fought to keep his pet alligator in court?
So yea…Florida’s a crazy place. But this 13-foot, 900 pound alligator named “Big Tex” was actually found in Champion Lake, of Texas.
And here’s the story:
“Gary Saurage and his crew from Gator Country, in Beaumont, TX, were called in to capture the huge gator from Champion Lake north of Wallisville and Interstate Ten in South Liberty County.
Saurage announced Thursday he would name it “Big Tex.”
The record breaking reptile, measuring 13 feet, eight inches long and more than 900 pounds, was brought back to Gator Country where it will be given a new home.
Saurage confirmed with Texas Parks and Wildlife that the gator is the largest ever caught in Texas.
“And they let me know by record they don’t see anything that’s even been within 5 inches of this as for as being caught live. And uh that makes me feel proud. I’ve been looking for this gator for a really long time. This is without a doubt the highlight of my career,” Saurage told 12News.”
So there you have it. Glad this gator could find a new home, where he won’t try to eat any humans.
And hopefully this gator doesn’t go ringing anyone’s doorbells.
