It’s expensive as hell to be a superhero. Very specifically, creating and maintaining a real-life Captain America costume, not to mention the physique, is more expensive than people realize. The team at Twizzle, which apparently has a lot of time on their hands, did some research to learn what it would actually cost to bring the Captain back to life, make his suites, shield, etc.
In case you can’t read all that, the main points are:
Project Rebirth – $516,000
Shield – $54,431,100
Uniforms – $3,720
Motorcycle – $7,500
Firearms – $900
Salary – $155,000 p.a.
TOTAL COST OF BEING CAPTAIN AMERICA:
$55,114,220
Really, if you just ditch the shield, it’s only a million-ish bucks to be a Captain America. It’s funny that his average salary is less than any athlete, most politicians, and people who own a couple of McDonald’s franchises.
