The Chiefs have used defensive tackle Dontari Poe for goal line situations in the past – most of the time as a blocker in times of needing points. So with the game out of reach for the Broncos it was a bit surprising when the 346-pound defensive lineman walked on the field late in the fourth quarter. You knew at this point it was Andy Reid’s way of flipping the bird at the defending Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos.
Poe lined up in shot-gun , took the snap, and then sold the run only to pull up and toss the most glorious touchdown pass of the season.
Andy Reid either wanted to really stick it to the Broncos or he just has a thing for fat guys. But regardless, he whipped up something special on this night and gave us one of the best plays of the 2016 season.
It’s not too often that we see punters making the big hits during football games. But that’s what we saw tonight. During the fourth quarter of the Cowboys Lions game, Cowboys punter Chris Jones absolutely obliterated Lions returner Andre Roberts after a 23- yard run. Roberts was left flat on his back and slow to get up. Cowboys fans were fired up with a 42-21 lead and this was the icing on the cake.
