The Melbourne Cup Day Festivities Came To An End As The Party Continued
The Melbourne Cup is Australia’s version of the Kentucky Derby. The countries most prestigious race is held on the first Tuesday of November each year. It has been dubbed “the race that stops a portion of a nation” with the state of Victoria declaring the 156-year-old event an official holiday, giving the entire state the day off.

Like the Kentucky Derby it’s a perfect day for people to put on their best duds and pound down the booze. Unlike the Kentucky derby, the Australian’s follow the British tradition of horses and glamour with getting super fucked up on alcohol. As the day lingers people start to get real sloppy as they get shit faced. There’s lots of booze, lots of trash and lots of people falling to the ground. And of course lots of fun too, leading to tons of photo opportunities that I’m sure some live to regret. Here’s some of the best of 2016.
