Animals have always been rad, and after all, they’ve existed much longer than we have. Unfortunately, evolution hasn’t really helped some of these bad boys.
Nevertheless, weird animals rock for different reasons. Aside from freaking us out, these strange adaptations help them survive in challenging environments or perform unusual tasks. Learning about these adaptations can be a window into the complexity and diversity of life on Earth. Sometimes weird animals are just plain funny, whether it’s because of their appearance, their behavior, or some other quirk. Laughing at and appreciating the absurdity of these cute weirdos (have we just called a penis snake a cute weirdo?) can be a source of joy and entertainment.
