Gamers and Geeks Can Now Enjoy Themselves at The Super Mario Themed Pop-Up Bar
Decked out with chimneys, bricks, clouds, stars, mushrooms, and mystery boxes hanging from the ceiling, The Cherry Blossom bar in Washington D.C. is now a mushroom kingdom that fans are lining up to see. The Washingtonian says the wait to get into this popular bar is about 2 hours. And don’t waste your time trying to grease the bouncer because it won’t do you any good.
The pop-up bars will be open from 5:00pm to 12:30am Sunday through Thursday and until 1:30am on Friday and Saturday now through April 15.
The drinks served are even inspired by the iconic video game series. According to Travel and Leisure, the cocktails are all about $13 and, of course, fit in with the bar’s theme. On the menu there’s the “It’s a Me, Amario” (sweet vermouth, Don Ciccio & Figli Carcafio, Aperitivo, and spicy ginger ale), “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Smaller” (vodka, mandarin orange, pomelo and apricot soda) and the “King Koopa Cup” (Two James Johnny Smoking Gun whiskey, “popcorn” tea ginger, and lemon).
