The FCC is Trying to Kill the Internet Again
Simply put, Net Neutrality protects us by prohibiting large Internet service providers like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon from speeding up, slowing down or blocking some content entirely.
Without Net Neutrality, cable and phone companies could slice up the internet into fast and slow lanes allowing them to slow down their competitors’ content. ISPs could then charge extra fees to the the hand full of content companies that could afford to pay for preferential treatment — forcing all others else to a slower tier of service. Smaller sites like Radass simply don’t have the financial resources to compete with big money sites that could buy their way into the fast lane. Getting rid of Net Neutrality would dismantle the open internet as we know it today.
Do you trust really the same companies that promise to be at your house between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and don’t show up until the following week to control what you can access on the internet?
