National Be A Millionaire Day
Yesterday was “National Be A Millionaire Day”, and it left with me one burning question. Why do millionaires need a day to celebrate? I’m pretty sure that’s what they do everyday!
I am thoroughly disappointed that I wasn’t celebrating along with them. I mean seriously, I’ve had 21 years now to figure out this whole money thing out, and I still haven’t gotten there. Instead, I have a stupid credit card bill that won’t go away, and crippling college debt that has set me back further than where I started.
I deserve to be driving cars that can break the sound barrier (slight exaggeration), or participating in boxing matches that, as Jim Lampley claimed, grossed more money in one night than 29 countries do in an entire year. HBO announcer Jim Lampley was a bit inaccurate, but the dollar amount is still quite substantial and was larger than 6 small island countries according to politifact.com.
Let’s take a look at a few millionaires and what they are doing with their fortunes.
Among many other things, Floyd Mayweather just sleeps with his cash at times.
Dan Bilzerian is living a life that most only dream of, banging everything in his path along the way.
Jerry Jones enjoys the luxury of owning the Dallas Cowboys and all that comes with the prestige, including a few extra curricular activities as well.
Along with thousands spent on homes, cars and partying, Justin Bieber spends a bit of his cash on legal defense as well.
NBA star DeShawn Stevenson didn’t like the idea of having to find an ATM machine to withdraw cash, so he put one in his kitchen.
Rob Dydrek seems to have one of the best lives of all. He has a cool-ass office where he rides skate boards and hangs with friends all day. I’ve actually been told that I look a lot like Rob Dydrek. I’ve even got the matching white bulldog. Maybe he can lend me a few million.
Looks like Steve Aoki parties pretty hard with all of his millions.
Kevin Hart is living large riding around with friends on a private jet.
Snoop Dogg not only spends a ton of cash on pot, but he also does a lot for youth sports programs, donating 1000’s of dollars.
I strongly believe that it’s not about when you get there, but how you get there. Not to get all sentimental on you, but this hits home with me and I plan on following a road that suits me. Not one that everyone else tells me I should take.
With all that being said, thank God for Instagram. I’m able to see what I’m missing out on, and there seems to be a lot. I plan on being a millionaire sometime in the future and know I will get there. For now, I can live vicariously through my phone and computer to see what the millionaires of today are doing ,and continue taking mental notes of everything so I know what to do when I have my millions.
