Kanye Comes Real Close To Pulling A “Kanye” Once Again
Most of us remember Kanye West jumping on stage 6 years ago at the MTV Video Music Awards. He felt it was important enough to interrupt Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech to let us all know Beyoncé deserved to win.
West received a ton of criticism for his bonehead move, even being called a “jackass” by President Obama. No matter who deserved to win, this stage was certainly not Kanye’s to express his opinion. After all, who does he think he is, Jesus?
In typical Kanye “the douche” fashion, he almost pulled it off again Monday night.
With Prince presenting Beck with the Grammy for album of the year, Kanye steps on stage and reaches for the mic. Kanye then quickly turns around to re-take his seat, ignoring Beck’s gesture to come back on stage. He later told E! News “You all knew what it meant when ‘Ye stepped on that stage.” Kanye also reportedly said after the award show that “Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyonce”.
Beck choses the high-road when asked about Kanye:
“You can’t please everybody. I still love him and think he’s genius,” Beck said of West. “I aspire to do what he does. How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z React:
Although Beyoncé didn’t win best album, she did walk away with 3 awards. Watch as Jay-Z shakes his head like “not again Kanye” as Beyoncé lips the words, “no Kanye”.
