Veteran Injured In Combat Doesn’t Let That Stop Him From Inspiring Others
Disabled Veteran US Marine Sargent Jose Luis Sanchez was wounded in Afghanistan and lost his left leg in Oct. 2011. While out on patrol in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province Sgt. Sanchez stepped on an IED. The blast demolished his left leg while leaving his right leg permanently damaged. But despite his injuries he moved on with amazing determination. Since his accident he’s committed himself to motivate and inspire others.
Sanchez visited 10-year-old Diego Mercado at his home to show him that his own disability can’t stop him from his dreams. Diego was born with one leg and just like like Sanchez wants to inspire other.
I’m not a supporter of war or any other form of bullying going on around the world but must say I have tons of respect for people like Sanchez. We send him to fight a fight that wasn’t his and he comes home without a leg. He doesn’t bitch nor ask for sympathy, he simply picks up the pieces and moves forward. Sargent Jose Luis Sanchez may have lost a let in that accident but he didn’t lose his spirit and drive.
It always makes me smile when I see heroes like this make the world a better place. This dude is a fucking beast!
