While they were eating lunch at Barnes Intermediate School in Staten Island, NY, Brandon noticed his friend Jessica Pellegrini choking. Quick-thinking Brandon knew he had to do something, so he immediately performed the Heimlich maneuver on her, dislodging the piece of apple that was stuck in her throat. When later asked how he knew about the Heimlich, he said he learned it from “SpongeBob SquarePants”. Who knew that SpongeBob could be so educational.
