Every now and then, well, all the time really, we get to see clips on YouTube that are presented by various YouTubers that are eager to show people what they want to see. Sssniperwolf, being one of our favorite YouTubers, is by far one of the best people to present a round of clips that are so easy to laugh at that it nearly cancels out the frustration of watching people attempting to get away with bad behavior that the rest of us might get called on the moment it happens.
From kicking stoplights to package thieves to parking in a non-parking spot and getting towed, there are a bunch of different karmic moments that we can’t help but spit our coffee out when we see people get what they deserve. So let’s get into it and see what we can pull from this video in terms of what’s justice and what’s karma kicking some people square in the backside, or wherever else it can reach.
Not Obeying Traffic Laws-Justice
Seriously, if you have your license and have been driving for more than a year, you KNOW the traffic laws in your area. If you break them and feign ignorance, it doesn’t matter since as anyone and everyone will tell you, ignorance isn’t an excuse. That’s why watching people flout the laws and then get busted because they didn’t realize that a cop was RIGHT THERE is so satisfying since it means that the stars aligned at just the right moment and that a cop, a dispenser of justice, will finally notice the traffic offender and will find it necessary to fire up the lights and head off after the offender. It could be called karma since the people in this clip are attempting to ignore the traffic laws, but it quickly becomes justice when the cops catch up to them.
It’s easy, to be honest about this, plenty of people break traffic laws every day, either by mistake or blatantly, but the fact is that karma is watching all the time and building up with each act. It’s when justice catches up that karma finally gets the chance to step aside unless one is dumb enough to not recognize that they’re in the wrong and continues the punishable behavior.
Intentional Theft-Karma
If there’s one thing that really pisses people off these days…well, there’s a lot of things that piss people off these days, but theft is definitely up there. It’s especially bad when it comes to stealing people’s mail and packages, since like it or not, the people doing the stealing have a serious shame deficiency, I won’t call it guts since it’s pretty gutless and heartless to take something that’s not yours. But leaving a glitter bomb for any would-be thieves is what some folks might call cruel and unusual (YOU try getting glitter out of anything), but it’s a result of the bad karma that people have been building up from taking what doesn’t belong to them, since whether it’s true or not, the idea is that if a person can boldly walk up to someone’s porch and take something that isn’t theirs, they don’t have a lot of boundaries that they won’t cross.
The funny thing about this is that if a person is truly pissed off about receiving a glitter bomb they don’t really have the chance to blame anyone but themselves since going to the cops would be one of the dumbest things possible while sucking up their pride and admitting that they were tricked is intolerable to some people. Of course, if they really wanted to be vindictive they’d return to the scene of the crime and perhaps find a way to get back at the rightful owner of the box. But then again, it might be that the owner might be waiting with a double-barreled complaint department that was armed with a rather vocal rebuttal. Too violent? Yes, no? That would be the justice end of things.
Pranks-Karma
There are plenty of occasions when a prank gone wrong might lead to a more justified response, but look at it this way, the prankster might have built up some very bad karma on their way to receiving justice, so it all works out in the end. The clip of the duo taking the guy’s phone on the escalator and having to deal with the guy taking their camera in return was classic since it was a tit for tat moment that definitely feels scripted, but is still funny all the same. One has to expect that when they’re pulling a prank, an honest to goodness prank that no one knows anything about other than those doing the filming, that the most honest reactions won’t be what they’re expecting.
It could be said that those without a great sense of humor won’t react that well, while those that have a great sense of humor will be chill about it. That kind of depends on the situation and the prank at hand, since people already question what’s real and what’s not enough these days, and thinking that you can simply pull a prank without any repercussions these days is kind of foolish. One such prank is the online prank that has to do with telling one’s mom to ‘shut the f up’ in full view of their father. Imagine just how many kids come close to getting the smack laid down on them by their old man before they have the chance to state that it’s a prank. Honestly, pranks are all well and good, and there are plenty of them that skirt the line of good taste and sensibility, but there are way too many of them that are bound to get someone hurt for no good reason, other than to be funny and come at the expense of other people.
Being an A$$ to People-Karma, DEFINITELY KARMA
There are so many ways to describe the bad karma that comes from treating others poorly that it defies easy explanation and could easily be its own article, or book for that matter. In fact, plenty of people have written books on the subject of the good old ‘golden rule’, which is to treat others as you would like to be treated. But one question kind of pops up now and then when someone cites that golden rule, and that’s “How’s that workin’ out for ya?”
If the golden rule works for you then it’s a charmed life you must lead, and karma must pass you over from time to time while thinking that all’s well and that you’re well-removed from this thing we call life. For the rest of us, however, karma is always on the lookout for those that are treating others poorly since there’s an internal meter we’re all born with, our Karma Meter we’ll call it for the sake of this article. As we make our way through life we’re bound to interact with more people than we can easily count, and chances are that we’re going to have at least a few interactions that are anything but pleasant. Depending on the situation and how we handle it, karma might start filling our meter slowly or it might decide to overflow that sucker. Whether that’s good or bad is dependent on how we deal with each situation in our lives, and how we treat others.
Treating others with kindness and respect is only one aspect of our lives, but it’s one that we don’t often get to escape from unless a person finds the most secluded space in the world where all their needs are met and they don’t have to interact with anyone, they’re bound to communicate with their fellow species at least a few times in life. How we do this is how karma decides to deal with us, and whether a person believes in karma or coincidence (there are more than a few that don’t enjoy the idea of karma) there is something that will happen based on how we react to the world around us. A lot of people have apparently forgotten this over the years, as far too many negative interactions tend to be viewed from day to day, and tend to overshadow the idea that people are generally good and simply want to get along.
Getting Arrested-Justice
There’s a reason I made that heading so simple, and it’s because justice, REAL justice, is hard to find sometimes, but when it is found it’s one of the most satisfying things in the world. A lot of us have probably taken note of people that should be getting arrested and yet somehow slip through the legal system by the skin of their teeth as they navigate loopholes that are supposedly there to let some folks get off without a hitch in their step while others have to follow the rules. But when those that try to fit through a loophole only to find that it tightens on them at the most inopportune moment are witnessed, it’s justice that’s been a long time coming, and it’s glorious to watch.
What’s truly funny is when people have no idea why they’re being arrested since they’re absolutely clueless to the fact that they’ve been doing so many things wrong. The people that look at the cops and wonder why they’re being ‘targeted’ when in truth the cops are following the same laws that the individuals want them to uphold. It almost brings a tear to one’s eye….due to laughter.
Believe What You Want
Karma and justice are very closely connected, but one doesn’t always lead to the other since whether we want to admit it or not, justice is a flawed concept since it’s made by flawed people. Karma, on the other hand, might not be perfect either, but it tends to strike on its own time and in ways that offer few if any real loopholes.
