The Future Of Fast Food
Anyone who brings me pizza is a person I will cherish for life.
But if a robot brought me that little slice of heaven? Not too sure how I would feel. (But would still definitely take it.)
Apparently Pizza Hut is leading the robot vs human takeover by implementing robots as waiters in the restaurant chain, starting in Asia.
Surely it will upset a lot of workers in the restaurant industry if this becomes a new thing, but the future is here and it seems like corporate America is a lot more willing to pay for robots than people.

Pizza Hut has teamed up with MasterCard to develop a new app that will be used by a robot called ‘Pepper’.

This is Pepper. It can read and respond to human facial expressions, gesture, and tone of voice. Creepy.
It was made by SoftBank, a Japanese technology firm who has already implemented robots with Nestle, who said the robot will allow customers to interact with it “just like they would with friends and family.”
Sounds great, but this robot looks like it would probably try to murder me in my sleep.

Vipul Chawla, managing director of Pizza Hut Restaurants Asia, said “We are excited to welcome Pepper to the Pizza Hut family.
“Core to our digital transformation journey is the ability to make it easier for customers to engage, connect and transact with Pizza Hut.
“With an order-and-payment-enabled Pepper, customers can now come to expect personalised ordering at our stores, reduce wait time for takeaways, and have a fun, frictionless user experience.”
I’m excited to see how this turns out.
