This Optical Illusion Might Hurt Your Confidence A Little Bit
The Internet is a little late to the game on this optical illusion, but it’s still blowing people’s minds almost 13 years later.
When it first debuted in 2003, the optical illusion, created by Japanese flash designer Nobuyuki Kayahara, was first used to test which hemisphere of the brain is more active.
However, now they believe that this optical illusion is a test of genius level intelligence.
According to the study, most people see the dancer rotating clockwise, which means there is an attentional bias towards the right side of the body.
But if you’re able to consciously rotate the dancer to spin in the other direction, this supposedly means you have a high IQ.
Try it for yourself:
The YouTube video, which got over 367,000 views, has this as it’s description:
“Let’s take a look at some words to best describe the left and right side of the brain…!
Left brain: * Logical * Detail oriented * Fact oriented * Interprets words and language * Mathematical and scientific * Order and pattern perception * Strategic
Right Brain: * Feeling oriented * “Big picture” oriented * Interprets sounds, symbols and images * Philosophical and spiritual * ?”out of the box” thinking * Inspiration oriented * Imaginative * Risk taking * Deals with the realm of possibility
So… Which are you? Or maybe both?”
Of course, some experts say this “genius” theory is a bunch of BS. (which it is). But if you can make them spin in both directions, you may or may not possibly be a genius.
