Photographer Jono Rotman Spends Eight-Years with New Zealand’s Most Dangerous Gang
Jono Rotman spent nearly eight years embedded with New Zealand’s most notorious gang, Mighty Mongrel Mob. His objective was not to expose the gang, but rather focus on art. In turn, the gang has allowed him access to homes and clubs of 30 different chapters of the gang.
The project has caused protest because a murderer’s portrait was exhibited in his victim’s hometown, but Jono stands by his work saying: “The gang is a part of the history of the country.”
