This News Reporter Is The Definition Of Diva
On-Air, news reporters are all smiles and giggles. But apparently off the air, the claws come out. And sometimes they go in for cringe-worthy kisses.
I thought I was diva AF, but Australian news reporter Amber Sherlock is queen of all that is drama. Prior to going on air, news footage shows Sherlock having an epic meltdown after realizing she, fellow journalist Julie Snook and guest Sandy Rea were all wearing white.
Directing her anger at her colleague, Sherlock demanded Snook put on a different colored jacket, creating an extremely awkward situation for their guest.
A fashion faux-paux indeed. I will admit, there’s nothing worse than showing up to an event and someone is wearing the same exact outfit as you. I mean, what’s the point of group chat if no one is listening!?
However, as a 30-something year old professional, it’s just petty.
“If it’s an issue I can get on out of here,” Snook said. And most people would just say no it’s fine, just don’t do it again. But Sherlock is savage AF and coldy replies, “It is an issue. Go and grab a jacket.”
I mean those faces just say it all. Shock. Annoyance. Extremely uncomfortable.
But looks like Sherlock got her way and everyone put their claws away and smiles back on:
The two 9 News journalists have since released a statement, with Sherlock admitting she ‘probably overreacted’.
“Live TV can be a pretty stressful beast, at times. And as anyone knows, it’s never much fun rocking up to work or to a party in the same outfit as one of your colleagues or friends,” she said. “I probably overreacted with the pressure of presenting a live news bulletin. Thank goodness we had psychologist Sandy Rae around afterwards!”
Snook didn’t seem to take it too hard either. “What can I say? Amber and I just really love white!,” she claims. “Amber and I are good friends and I really enjoy working with her. News is a fast moving environment and sometimes these things happen.”
