Ronda Rousey slams Nevada Athletic Commission for 5-year-suspension to friend Nick Diaz for marijuana use.
Ronda Rousey told the Nevada State Athletic Commission exactly how she felt about the suspension of fellow UFC fighter Nick Diaz. Five year for failing a marijuana test. “What is going on is, I think, a result of the unfair treatment of U.S. Olympians,” she said. “It really pales in comparison to how unfair it is that Nick Diaz got a five-year suspension. I’m sorry — I know no one asked me anything but I have to say something. It’s so not right for someone to be suspended for five years for marijuana. I’m against them even testing for weed at all.”
Nick was not hurting anyone, he was not taking a drug to enhance his abilities, wasn’t smoking on the job. My guess is, he was doing nothing more than sitting down at the end of the day to relax taking a few bong rips in the privacy of his own home. And now he’s told he can’t work in his profession for five years. Given the fact his sport is a young mans sport, they might as well suspend him for life. It’s just plain stupid to think a person deserves the death penalty from their job for smoking pot. No matter how you feel about the legalization of marijuana, Ronda is right.
