Alex Jones Interview Flop
CNN – Megyn Kelly’s much talked about interview with Alex Jones got plenty of attention for Kelly and NBC, both good and bad, but not many viewers.
Kelly’s sit down with Jones, a controversial, conspiracy theorist radio host and founder of the website Infowars, brought in an average of 3.5 million viewers Sunday night. That’s the fewest viewers that Kelly’s weekly news magazine telecast, “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly,” has drawn since its debut three weeks ago.
The show also trailed a re-run episode of CBS’ “60 Minutes,” which brought in 5.3 million viewers. Among 18-49-year-olds, the demographic most prized by advertisers, a repeat of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” beat both Kelly and “60 Minutes” by about 40%.
For anyone interested in watching this shit show of an interview here is the full version. I commend anyone who can make it through the whole thing…
Alright lets get into it, there’s been so much hoopla and drama about this interview. Advertisers were pulling out left and right and many people were furious that Megyn Kelly would give a crackpot like Alex Jones a platform. But hey, she interviewed Putin a couple weeks ago and pretty much asked him fluffy bullshit about nothing. Who cares that Megyn is interviewing Alex Jones? Yeah he’s insane and wayyyyy other there, but he’s a public figure, he’s controversial, and she’s a journalist. She isn’t here to tell you he’s legitimate, she’s here to ask the questions people want to know. It’s up to the people to make a decision on his validity.
On the other hand, I understand it’s sensitive because he has outrageous viewpoints about topics like 9/11 and Sandy Hook, but if you don’t realize he’s a fucking lunatic from 10 seconds of watching him, you’re already a fucking lunatic yourself so who really cares.
I think the really story here is that people are still watching “America’s Funniest Home Videos”…. I thought that show died a decade ago. That show was crap before youtube. If you want to see idiots do idiotic things there is a lifetimes worth of content available free without commercials via the magical interwebs. Its 2017, get with the times people….
