How To Make a Good Impression on Your Girlfriend’s Parents

Meeting your girlfriend’s parents can be a nerve-wracking experience, but it doesn’t need to be. The most important thing is not being yourself, do your best to look like someone they’d be proud of as their son-in-law and future father of their grandchildren. Here are 7 ideas to get you started:

1: Be a Doctor

Show up at the front door in full doctor attire complete with a white coat and stethoscope hanging around your neck and the parents will automatically love you for being such a responsible guy who has his life together.

2: Be a Lawyer

Approach the parents with a briefcase and several documents they can’t understand and they’ll think you’re successful.

3: Be a Fireman

All that matters here is the hat, even if you aren’t a fireman at all. You don’t even have to know what to do in case of an emergency, just show up wearing your tuxedo shirt with the gold badge pinned to it. They’ll think you’re a big hero and will love you for it.

4: Bring a Dog

Show up with a cute little puppy in tow and the parents will love you for your kindness. Bonus points if it’s a funny-looking dog like a pug or French bulldog.

5: Bring A Trophy – Show up with a nondescript trophy and the parents won’t even know what it is, but they’ll think you’re really good at sports so they’ll love you for it.

6: Buy Them a Car

Before the dinner starts, offer to buy them a new car as a present and they’ll think you’re a great guy who is thoughtful and generous. Bonus points if it’s an expensive car like an Audi A8 Quattro or Mercedes S-Class.

7: Have a Ponytail

Showing up with your hair pulled back in a ponytail is just a great way to show off your face, and if you have a nicely shaped face that’s an instant plus. Even better if their daughter likes it. Girls really dig guys with ponytails. Bonus points for matching the ponytail with some kind of hat, like a cowboy hat or baseball cap.

8: Give Up

All jokes aside, just be yourself. They will either like you, or they won’t. If you’re a rude punk – chances are, they won’t like you, and if you’re kind and respectful – they will know instantly.
