He had a great job, a cool Manhattan pad, and a loving Fiance by his side. He decided to sell his place and shack up with his girl in her Brooklyn apartment. Then, he told the NY Daily News ,three things went wrong. First, his Manhattan pad failed to sell. Second, he started feeling boxed in at his girls place. Third, he read a book. Three seems harmless enough, until you learn that it was a book about the gaming culture in the 1980′s.The book inspired him to surround himself with the things he loved while growing up.

His thought turned to action and he began building his dream room.

When the process began his lover was all in. She even gave him design ideas and selected the tile pattern.

Then, all at once, things turned on poor old Chris.

His future wife burned out on the idea and skipped the grand unveiling of the game room. She then returned the rock and split leaving Chris all alone with his new room. Chris told Wired, “There is a fine line between a hobby and an obsession. I think I was just consumed by it all” He had his arcade but no more Fiancee.

Now Chris hosts game nights once a week, and after the festivities he retires for the night in his Teenage Mutant Turtle bed.

Thus another tough lesson learned that most things are alright as long as their done in moderation.
